Contest Time: 5, 264 miles and counting

A good friend suggested that it might be a fun contest to have people guess how many miles I will travel during this venture. I fully agree, so lets give this a go! So far I am in Louisiana and have put 5,264 miles on Wonda the Wonder Honda.

How to enter:

1. Follow me on Facebook or Instagram

2. Comment on this post or any FB or Instagram posting by Sunday August 10th at midnight with your guess of the total number of miles you think I will travel.

The closest person at the end of the trip, without going over (yes we are getting all Price Is Right style) will win one 8x12" print of each of the below two images:

*****Note, in the event of multiple people picking the same milage that is closest, all the names that guessed closest will be thrown into a hat and the winner will be picked at random.

For anyone catching on late, I am in the process of documenting drive-in theaters across the country. I left from Portland, OR 19 days ago, and just arrived in Louisiana today. I will be on the road until mid to late September before ending up back home in Portland, OR. Here is a rough outline of various locations I hope to stop at. The trip is subject to change but I will be venturing all the way up the east coast and back across the midwest to Portland, OR.

Thank you again to Honda for loaning me this brand new 2015 Honda Fit for my trip. I wouldn't have made it this far without her. Check out Honda's Project Drive-In to see how they are trying to help save drive-in theaters all over the country. Please note, all opinions you read in my blog about Wonda the Wonder Honda all fully my own.

I turned to photography at a young age as a way to manipulate the world in front of me into endless possibilities. It remained a hobby for several years until I decided to run away from the snow in Iowa and towards the rain in Portland, OR. While I was inspired by film makers and my surroundings, I had a tendency to pick apart single frames and freeze them. My memory wasn't a movie playing back in my head, it was a series of still images that created a narrative. This translates into my work through the use of lighting and props that build a scene and create a story. When I am not taking pictures, I spend my time roller skating, playing with my puppy Charlie Von Shitbird (he is very sophisticated), spending time with my snake Vans, embarking on capers with my girlfriends, messing around with special fx makeup, and exploring the great Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer. The best thing about my job is getting to meet a variety of people. No to shoots are the same and I thrive on getting to know my clients and collaborating with them to create truly unique and bold images that fit their needs. Whether it be wedding photography, family portraits, small business needs, or you simply want a kick ass original portrait. If you are looking for a creative experience that will not only boost your confidence but create a lasting memory then lets make it happen!
