Exciting News

With just 9 days left before I hit the open road, I am ecstatic to finally make this announcement...Honda has generously loaned me a 2015 Honda Fit for my road trip! As some of you may remember from previous posts, last year, Honda launched a social media campaign called Project Drive-In. Their goal was to help save as many drive-in theaters across the United States as they could. To date, they have saved a total of 10 theaters from their campaign directly and 17 more from the publicity their campaign brought. In fact, two theaters saved were right in my home state of Oregon (99W in Newberg and Motor Vu in Dallas) as well as the one closest to my home town of Des Moines, Iowa (Valle in Newton).

The fact that such a large company has stepped in to help not just save these small businesses and American Icons, but also drive awareness to the current state that drive-in theaters are in, is mind-blowing to say the least. I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity help be a part of this.

This car means that I will be able to stay on the road for the entire trip I was planning! Prior to receiving the Fit, I must admit that I was more than a little nervous about what would happen if my car broke down. That fear and looming possibility of unknown repair expenses is no longer a weight on my shoulders. The Fit is amazing and came with only 34 miles on her! I don't think I have ever in my life had a car with less than 70,000 miles. Many friends have asked if it was similar to winning a car on The Price Is Right and you know what, somehow I think it was better. I am still considering what to name her so if you happen to have any suggestions please send them my way.

Please know that while Honda is loaning me the 2015 Fit, they are in no way influencing what I write about the car. Everything I write is of my own opinion. I have driven Honda's for the last 10 years and loved them. Now I am even prouder to be a Honda owner.

I turned to photography at a young age as a way to manipulate the world in front of me into endless possibilities. It remained a hobby for several years until I decided to run away from the snow in Iowa and towards the rain in Portland, OR. While I was inspired by film makers and my surroundings, I had a tendency to pick apart single frames and freeze them. My memory wasn't a movie playing back in my head, it was a series of still images that created a narrative. This translates into my work through the use of lighting and props that build a scene and create a story. When I am not taking pictures, I spend my time roller skating, playing with my puppy Charlie Von Shitbird (he is very sophisticated), spending time with my snake Vans, embarking on capers with my girlfriends, messing around with special fx makeup, and exploring the great Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer. The best thing about my job is getting to meet a variety of people. No to shoots are the same and I thrive on getting to know my clients and collaborating with them to create truly unique and bold images that fit their needs. Whether it be wedding photography, family portraits, small business needs, or you simply want a kick ass original portrait. If you are looking for a creative experience that will not only boost your confidence but create a lasting memory then lets make it happen!
