Image branding for website and upcoming editorial features, Custom Blog & Facebook Banner, Photography 101 Lessons, and Personal Cheerleading.
I have been working with Sasha Ericson, the mastermind behind Tattooed Martha for much of her blogs lifespan. As her blog and brand has grown and changed so have our photo sessions. In our most recent shoot she wanted fresh, captivating images for several upcoming editorial features. We wanted to draw in new fans while showing current fans a different side of her brand.
Having recently added a fun feature called Friday Failures to her blog , I proposed that we show the messier side of her brand by trashing the kitchen and covering her in frosting and flour. Our goals was creative, colorful, and honest.
Sasha hired me early on to create a customized banner that would fit her blog layout and her Facebook page. With size specifications in mind, we put our heads together to come up with an image that would show off the the two cultures that her blog encompasses, cooking and tattoos. We decided to take her favorite food to cook, cupcakes and her husbands tattoo gun as the main focal points in the image and have them blending together through spilt ink and sprinkles.
Sasha wanted to show her readers exactly what it took to create a blog post. A lot more goes on behind the scenes than her final post shows and we wanted to demonstrate all the hats (cook, photographer, food stylist) that she has to wear to run her business. We decided I would follow her around for an afternoon documenting all the chaos.
