Happy (Ridiculously Belated) New Year!

Seriously, how is it already the middle of March? So much of my energy went into creating & releasing my first book, Drive-In America, that a lot of other parts of my business were neglected. I still have a few copies left if you haven't gotten yours yet you can pick one up here. And now, onward with what I have been working on the last few months!

Updated Website & Business Focus:

Go check it out the entirely new layout!

Developing and growing a business can be looked at like a funnel. When you first start out, you take anything and everything that comes your way. You build up various portfolios and start to narrow your focus down as find where your passion lies. For me, it is three areas:

1)  Commercial Service for Small Businesses & Creatives:  I love working with creatives and go-getters following their dreams! The more businesses I work with the more inspired I feel and I've learned, I have skills outside of photography to offer. So, I am officially launching several new services to help businesses! Image Branding, Squarespace Web Design + Training Session, Photography 1-on-1 Training, & Cheerleading + Accountability. All designed to help business owners take control of the various aspects of their business, build confidence, keep them on track, & most importantly, save them time & money!

Coming up in the near future will be blog posts designed to help businesses find the resources they need, including how I was able to get $9,000 in free money to grow my business!

Know someone who might benefit from any of these, send them my way for a free consultation. I can at the very least promise an inspiring meeting that will have them energized and excited about their future!

2)  Weddings: When I started, I didn't think I would ever want to shoot weddings. Then, all these amazing couples kept coming my way. They like my unconventional style and I realized I love shooting them! I am so excited for the 2016 weddings I have coming up, one of which I will be partially be shooting on film and 4x5 Polaroids! I still have a few more dates available so send all those love birds in your life my way, I am willing and eager to travel! I am also throwing this out into the universe, I would really love to start shooting weddings in Hawaii. Just putting it out there...

3)  Personal Work: No matter what I do on a daily basis to pay the bills, I will always have my personal projects. These allow me to test out ideas, lighting, and explore the inner workings of my mind. Lately, I have been really into wrapping people in hair! Don't ask me to explain it, just enjoy it.

Features:

My series, Disconnected, has been making the rounds recently. In January, it appeared in Mexican magazine, Revista Morbifica. For those in Portland, this series can also be seen at Leisure Public House from now until the beginning of April. My book, Drive-In America, can also be found in St. Johns at the amazing new gallery, Pigeons Studio & Gallery.

That seems like enough information overload for now. The best way to keep up with my latest work is to follow me on Instagram & Facebook!

Portland, OR, United States of America

I turned to photography at a young age as a way to manipulate the world in front of me into endless possibilities. It remained a hobby for several years until I decided to run away from the snow in Iowa and towards the rain in Portland, OR. While I was inspired by film makers and my surroundings, I had a tendency to pick apart single frames and freeze them. My memory wasn't a movie playing back in my head, it was a series of still images that created a narrative. This translates into my work through the use of lighting and props that build a scene and create a story. When I am not taking pictures, I spend my time roller skating, playing with my puppy Charlie Von Shitbird (he is very sophisticated), spending time with my snake Vans, embarking on capers with my girlfriends, messing around with special fx makeup, and exploring the great Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer. The best thing about my job is getting to meet a variety of people. No to shoots are the same and I thrive on getting to know my clients and collaborating with them to create truly unique and bold images that fit their needs. Whether it be wedding photography, family portraits, small business needs, or you simply want a kick ass original portrait. If you are looking for a creative experience that will not only boost your confidence but create a lasting memory then lets make it happen!
